Sandals South Coast team members get financially fit
UNDER the theme ‘Inspiring Big Dreams’, Sandals South Coast hosted its first Investment and Development Expo, a bold initiative designed to elevate financial literacy, personal growth and professional advancement among its team members.
Held in the resort’s Grand Ballroom, the all-day event welcomed more than 300 enthusiastic attendees who engaged in an enriching line-up of presentations, consultations and interactive activities.
The expo focused on helping team members navigate key areas such as budgeting, saving, investing and career planning; offering practical tools to build a more secure and fulfilling future.
From vision boarding to investment strategies, the event created an inspiring space where personal dreams met actionable financial guidance.
“The Investment and Development Expo was more than an event, it was a movement — one set to help our team members fully live our purpose as a company; which is to live more prosperous, sustainable and fulfilling lives,” shared Abigail Spencer-Kerr, assistant learning and development manager at the resort.
The highlight of the day was a compelling keynote by Kalilah Reynolds, acclaimed financial journalist, wealth coach and CEO of Money Media Limited.
Known for making money matters easy to understand, Reynolds broke down the essentials of budgeting and investing into realistic steps for everyday success.
“She made us feel like financial freedom is not just for a few, but that it’s for all of us too,” shared Keisha Tomlinson, a team member from the housekeeping department.
In the meantime Tevin Simpson, learning and development manager at the resort, noted that financial literacy is not a luxury but a necessity in today’s world.
“By connecting our team with expert insights and real tools, we’re helping them build habits that will benefit them for life. We believe that when our people are empowered personally, they perform more confidently and passionately on the job. That’s the true return on investment,” said Simpson.
