Black Stars, King FA to clash in St Ann Major League final
ST ANN, Jamaica — Unbeaten Black Stars and King FA will meet in the final of the St Ann Football Association Major League on Thursday after contrasting semi-finals wins over last season’s champions Exchange United and Moneague FC, respectively, over the weekend.
On Sunday, Black Stars, who won four of five first-round games and drew the other, topping Zone B, edged Zone A runners-up Exchange United 1-0 in their semi-final at Drax Hall, with Shamari “Foody” Haughton scoring the winner in the 18th minute.
A day earlier, King FA, last season’s Division One winners, came from a goal down to beat Moneague FC 4-1 at Drax Hall.
Tevin Maine had given Moneague FC the lead in the sixth minute with his league-leading eighth goal of the season.
However, Kawayne McInnis pulled King FA level in the 32nd minute before Daniel Reid gave them the lead in the 45th minute.
Kaniel Brown made the scores 3-1 when he scored in the 75th minute before Damar Tyson added a fourth goal in the 90th minute.
