Kingston man accused of robbing boy of iPhone at gunpoint
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica – A labourer has been charged with robbery with aggravation following an incident at the intersection of Burke and Port Henderson roads in Spanish Town, St Catherine on Saturday.
Jevon Richards, 27, of a Kingston address, was charged after reports were made to the Spanish Town Police.
It is reported that about 10:30 am, a boy was walking along Burke Road when Richards and another man approached him. The men engaged the boy in a conversation during which Richards pulled a firearm and demanded the properties of the boy. The boy, in fear for his life, gave his iPhone 11 valued at J$48,000.00 to Richards.
After an investigation, Richards was arrested. He was then placed on an identification parade where he was positively identified.
His court date has not been finalised.
Richards’ alleged accomplice is currently being sought by the police.
