Shanieka Ricketts is now brand ambassador for Dolla Financial Services
KINGSTON, Jamaica—Jamaican triple jumper Shanieka Ricketts is now a brand ambassador of Dolla Financial Services.
Walter Scott, Dolla Financial Services director, while speaking at the signing ceremony to finalise the ambassadorship deal on Monday, said this move follows a Jamaica Observer news article which highlighted that Shanieka Ricketts rejected offers to switch allegiance.
This followed news that Olympic medallists Roje Stona, Rajindra Campbell and Wayne Pinnock have reportedly switched allegiance with Türkiye, one of the countries luring the Jamaicans with lucrative financial packages.
“All of this came about because of an article that we read last Friday where Mr Ricketts spoke about the loyalty of Mrs Ricketts to Jamaica to track and field in Jamaica. To the opportunities that had been presented her way that she gave up to remain here and it touched something within us at Dolla because Dolla prides itself on the loyalty that it has with its customers, its stakeholders and its shareholders and we thought that background that Mrs Ricketts would be fitting brand ambassador for Dolla and we would give her some support during the course of her journey to the World Championships this year. The next World Championships coming up, to the Olympics after that so we are here with you and all of this is a testament to loyalty,” he said.

Shanieka Ricketts expressed that she is elated to be selected as an ambassador for Dolla Financial Services and noted that this is a good step going forward.
“I am very elated, I am honoured to be selected as brand ambassador for Dolla Financial Services. I believe that this is a good step going forward not just for myself. I can only hope that corporate Jamaica come on board and support not only me but other field athletes and athletes in general because it is hard to do what we do without the financial support and I am truly grateful for this opportunity. I am excited to see what will come from this partnership as I continue to prepare for the World Championships this year and as you say beyond. The aim is to go all the way until 2028 at least. That’s the goal, I am happy to be on board with you guys,” she said.
