Jamaican woman stabbed to death in Bronx, New York
NEW YORK, USA— A Jamaican woman was reportedly stabbed to death in Wakefield in the Bronx, New York, on Saturday night.
The woman, identified as 40-year-old Tamara Rowe, a former employee of the Gleaner in Jamaica, was reportedly found with stab wounds to her chest and right arm.
Media reports said authorities rushed Rowe to hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Rowe died, leaving two children, ages two and 10 years old. The youngest child was at home when she was reportedly stabbed, the police had reported.
Neighbours told the media that Rowe lived with the children and their father. The common-law husband has not been seen since the incident. Police have not named him as a suspect.
Media reports stated that the superintendent of the building in which the couple lived disclosed that a man was seen running from the location on surveillance footage on Saturday night.
This was around the same time that police said the stabbing reportedly occurred. Rowe reportedly migrated to the US about three years ago.
