Fingerprints lead police to alleged serial housebreaker
AN alleged serial housebreaker is now behind bars after cops used the Automated Fingerprint Identification System to link him to his latest crime.
According to the police, 29-year-old Kerron “Piggy” Mason of a White Hall Avenue, St Andrew, address, was arrested and charged with housebreaking and larceny following an incident along Mayfair Avenue, Kingston 19, on Monday, December 16, 2024.
The Constant Spring Police reported that the occupants of the house retired to bed about 12:35 am. The next morning they discovered that the house had been broken into.
Further checks revealed that several items, including cellphones and handbags, were missing.
The police were called in and initiated an investigation.
Fingerprints lifted from the scene were processed and found to match those of Mason.
He was apprehended outside the Corporate Area, taken into custody and charged following an interview in the presence of his attorney.
A court date is being arranged for him.
