NISOU serves up sweet treat with Kit Kat
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Emerging recording artiste NISOU delivered a sweet treat with the release of her debut single Kit Kat, now available on all major streaming platforms.
The project was released under Emotica Republic and produced by the powerhouse duo REGGIE CRUX and Neegle. It was mixed and mastered by Nathaniel Wing.
With a genre-bending track that fuses infectious rhythms, sharp lyricism and unmistakable confidence, Kit Kat marks the arrival of a bold new voice set to shake up the music scene.
The single showcases NISOU’s unique sonic identity — blending Reggae, Neo Soul and alt-R&B with raw energy and an unapologetic attitude.

“Kit Kat captures the bittersweet journey of a relationship where sweet words can’t hide the truth. It is a soft but powerful reminder to choose yourself. I used chocolate as a metaphor for love, desire and self-worth. At first, it feels good—until you see what’s real. I’m not here to be a guilty pleasure. This one’s for anyone learning to walk away with love for themselves,” NISOU said.
While Kit Kat marks her official debut, NISOU’s musical journey began long before the studio lights. In 2009, NISOU entered the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) competition, marking a key step in her development as a performer.
In 2013, she served as choir captain for the St Hilda’s Diocesan High School choir during All Together Sing Jamaica, leading her team with passion and poise. She continued to shine on national stages, earning runner-up in the Popeyes Jamaica, Music to Your Mouth Competition in 2022-2024.
NISOU made visual cameos in two major music videos— YG Marley’s viral hit Praise God in the Moonlight and Protoje’s Legend — showcasing her growing presence within the contemporary reggae and soul movement.
Beyond performing, she also contributed behind the lens as the photographer for the album art of Protoje’s Legend project, further highlighting her creative versatility. She attended the Ashe Company Performing Arts summer programme, which further strengthened her creative capabilities.
With roots in Jamaica, NISOU draws inspiration from Lauren Hill, Eryka Badu, Bob Marley, crafting a sound that is both distinct and deeply personal.
