Wheatley predicts Crawford, Pryce, and Dawes will be defeated in elections

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) Deputy General Secretary, Dr Andrew Wheatley is predicting that several of the governing party’s candidates, including Robert ‘Big Rob’ Miller, will defeat popular personalities of the People’s National Party (PNP) seeking to become parliamentarians.

At the JLP’s final mass rally Sunday in Spanish Town, St Catherine, Wheatley told Labourites that his good friend Dr Alfred Dawes will lose against Miller in St Catherine South Eastern.

“I said to Alfred, ‘Leave the politics ting alone, because if you go a St Catherine [South] Eastern, Big Rob a go destroy you’. And a can tell you supm, I have all the confidence that come September 3, Big Rob goin’ send back home Dawes,” Wheatley declared.

He then took aim at the contest between the PNP’s Raymond Pryce and Alando Terrelonge in St Catherine East Central.

“There is a guy who use to reside in North East St Elizabeth, and a want tell you supm, a don’t know why the PNP run him from over there, but it could not be anything good. Another reject is now in East Central St Catherine. Terrelonge whap him (Pryce) in 2020, and now him a get another backsiding in 2025,” Wheatley suggested.

Earlier, he labeled the PNP’s St Catherine North Western candidate, Damion Crawford, as a “clown” who was making “gimmicks ’bout the realities of Jamaicans”.

“That man (Crawford) always say everybody dunce… but if he was that intelligent and sensible, him would a come with the people with serious arguments and nuh come pan the stage like him a clown,” Wheatley said.

He also predicted that Newton Amos will defeat Crawford in St Catherine North Western.

“Him (Crawford) run come a St Catherine and get a seat, but a know that brother Amos have a backsiding waiting for him in North West St Catherine,” Wheatley claimed.

Earlier, Wheatley lambasted some PNP candidates like Peter Bunting, Dayton Campbell and Wykeham McNeill as being “disloyal” for moving from one constituency to another after being defeated by JLP candidates in the 2020 elections.

He said the future of the country cannot be entrusted to the PNP, especially those persons who are not loyal to the people.

“Our politics is not about PNP or JLP. Our politics is about Jamaica, and that is why Labourites we are choosing Jamaica… And so, when you hear dem say, ‘Time Come’, yes, ‘Time Come to for us to choose Jamaica. Time Come for us to choose the JLP,” Wheatley indicated.
