CDB and RevUP Caribbean launch new phase of incubation programme

The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and RevUP Caribbean Limited recently launched phase II of the RevUP Caribbean Incubation Programme — a two-year initiative focused on job creation, scaling start-ups, and boosting innovation across the region.

Building on the successes of the first phase, this new stage aims to support at least 60 early-stage businesses through a comprehensive mix of business training, mentorship, technology support, and enhanced access to finance.

“The bank is proud to collaborate with RevUP to unlock Caribbean entrepreneurial potential,” said Lisa Harding, division chief, private sector and CDB. “We envision a future with stronger micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), aligned with CDB’s commitment to fostering private sector growth, driving innovation, building climate resilience, and ensuring equitable access to financing.

Phase II introduces key partnerships with the Caribbean Climate-Smart Accelerator (CCSA) and the Caribbean Export Development Agency, which will help nurture climate-smart and export-oriented firms. Meanwhile, collaborations with European incubators and accelerators through the EU-LAC Innovation Cooperation Initiative will strengthen global connections for Caribbean start-ups.

Additionally, the programme will continue to leverage the support of FirstAngels Caribbean and other investor networks — providing entrepreneurs with greater access to angel investors, commercial banks, and venture capital firms.

Launched four years ago, the RevUP Caribbean programme supports early-stage entrepreneurs by helping them scale their ventures through structured incubation. Its core pillars include business development training, strategic mentorship, access to capital, and networking opportunities.

With strong governance and a growing base of global partnerships, phase II is poised to equip Caribbean entrepreneurs with the tools, funding, and networks needed to build resilient, high-growth businesses capable of creating jobs and transforming regional economies. The initiative in strengthening the regional start-up ecosystem also aims to foster innovation while preparing businesses for local and international markets.

Key features of the new iteration include a start-up pipeline that will engage high-potential, women-led, and climate-smart ventures. Through better capacity-building support systems tailored training to improve investment readiness and operational efficiency is also to be made available. Additionally, mentorship powered by guidance from regional and international coaches and expanded financial access will also provide new pitch opportunities for start-ups seeking to unlock more growth for their businesses.

“Phase II represents a strategic expansion of our mission to empower Caribbean entrepreneurs. With partners like CDB, the Development Bank of Jamaica, the Caribbean Climate Smart Accelerator and Caribbean Export, we are driving sustainable and inclusive growth,” said Harry “Tomi” Davies, chairman of RevUP Caribbean Limited.
