KINGSTON, Jamaica — The People’s National Party (PNP) says it is deeply saddened by the passing of PNP councillor Patrick Forrester, who represented the Petersfield Division in the Westmoreland Central constituency.

Forrester died in a motor vehicle crash on Wednesday.

“Comrade Forrester’s passing is a terrible blow to the party and to the people of Petersfield. He was a humble and devoted servant, committed to uplifting his community and always putting people first. His work and his legacy will endure in the lives of those he served, and he will be sorely missed by his comrades, his community, and the wider Jamaican family”, said PNP president Mark Golding.

Meanwhile, PNP General Secretary, Dr Dayton Campbell, remembered Councillor Forrester as “a man who gave of himself wholeheartedly”.
” “Comrade Forrester lived among the people he served and gave of himself wholeheartedly. He was accessible, dependable, and deeply respected. His passing leaves a void not only in Westmoreland but across the movement, and we extend our love and prayers to his family and all who are grieving this great loss,” said Campbell.

Member of Parliament-elect for Westmoreland Central Dwayne Vaz said: “I am heartbroken at the passing of my friend and colleague, Comrade Forrester. He was a pillar in our political and community work, always willing to go the extra mile for his people. The Petersfield Division has lost a champion, and I have lost a brother. We will honour his memory by continuing the work he dedicated his life to.”

The PNP also extended condolences to Councillor Forrester’s family, friends, colleagues, and constituents.
