Is That A Fact fancied to win Errol ‘Big Sub’ Subratie Mem Trophy feature

A field of 15 runners is down to take part in the $1.25-million Errol “Big Sub” Subratie Memorial Trophy feature at Caymanas Park tomorrow. The Overnight Allowance contest for three-year-olds and upward will run over one mile (1,600m).

Below, the Jamaica Observer’s The Supreme Racing Guide takes a look at each runner and their chances of winning.

1. LINGUIST: (3 b f by Aveenu Malcainu – Bilingual) – Finished a strong second to Perfect Brew at this level on September 20. While Linguist is not expected to win here, she should run well enough to earn some money. Her consistent performance makes her a good bet for a place.

2. SISTREN TREASURE (USA): (5 b m by Brethren – Katira) – Winless from seven starts this season and should remain the same after this race. Sistren Treasure has struggled to find her form this season, and it’s unlikely she’ll suddenly turn things around here.

3. D HEAD CORNERSTONE: (6 b h by Bern Identity – Soul of the Heart) – A winner on last start who is going to find repeating not possible here.

4. CAPTAIN SPARROW: (4 b c by Savoy Stomp – Rackam’s Mistress) – Did well to reach this level but a winning run is unlikely in this one. Captain Sparrow has shown promise, but the competition is too strong for him to win.

5. I DREAM AGAIN: (3 b c by Soul Warrior – Lady Najariya) – This year’s Jamaica Derby and St Leger winner who was a disappointing last of 12 runners at this level on September 28. I Dream Again is expected to run an improved race here. With some form in his legs, he could be a dark horse contender.

6. OIL MACHINE: (4 ch c by Bern Identity – Keep the Faith) – Has no realistic chance of winning this one.

7. SUPREMASI: (4 b c by Savoy Stomp – Beware Baby) – Is going to be left behind in this one.

8. WHIZZ KIDD: (5 b h by Northern Giant – Mayken Joy) – Hard to recommend for a winning run. Whizz Kidd’s form has been inconsistent, and he’s not a safe bet to win.

9. MACK AND ROME: (4 b c by Bold Conquest – Gold Miner) – Can safely be bypassed.

10. IS THAT A FACT (USA): (5 b h by Palace Malice – Valid Code) – Has gone winless in eight starts this season. Is That A Fact has been campaigning in the classes above with commendable efforts. He takes a drop in class for this trophy race and having worked well, he is expected to dominate his rivals here. A stroll in the park is expected.

11. DIVINE FORCE (USA): (5 b h by Alternation – Dance America) – Finished a good third behind Desert of Malibu on July 5 in the class above. Stepping down here to compete, Divine Force is expected to put in another strong effort. He’s a consistent performer and could be a threat.

12. SHEER DELIGHT (USA): (4 dk b c by Girvin – Pantyhose) – Impossible to win this one.

13. RUN JULIE RUN: (4 gr f by Successful Native – Runaway Julie) – Consistent filly who also takes a drop in class here. However, with Is That A Fact present, Run Julie Run’s best placing is for second.

14. INTRESTNTIMESAHEAD: (4 b c by Bold Conquest – My Friend Lucy) – Came home in second place behind Unspun on September 28 over 7 ½ furlongs (1,500m). Intrestntimesahead is expected to be among the contenders for second place here.

15. UNRULY MO (USA): (3 b c by Outwork – Snakeinthegrass) – Is going to struggle here.
