DOTHRAKI, a four-year-old American-bred bay colt, is set to make his local debut in today’s top-rated, $1.25-million Overnight Allowance contest, a key prep run for his target — the prestigious US$300,000 Mouttet Mile in December.

Bred by Into Mischief out of the Empire Maker mare Vanquished, Dothraki has been working impressively in his preparation and looks set to make a strong impression on local racing fans. With his sights firmly set on the Mouttet Mile, today’s contest will provide valuable experience and a chance to fine-tune his form before the big event.

Dothraki, who has won one race from three starts in the United States, galloped 35.2 seconds for three furlongs (600m) on Thursday, October 2. The Jason DaCosta trainee then galloped four furlongs (800m) out of the gates in 46.0 seconds on Wednesday, October 8 before working 1:06.0 for five and a half furlongs on Tuesday, October 14.

While Dothraki’s impressive workouts suggest he might cruise to victory here, Incredible Jo’s presence adds a dash of intrigue to the contest.

Incredible Jo’s credentials make him a formidable opponent for Dothraki. With three consecutive wins from four starts on local soil — including a dominant 14-and-three-quarter-length victory over Supernatural Power on May 25 over seven furlongs (1,400m) — he’s shown impressive form.

His recent workout of 1:07.0 for five and a half furlongs, with a strong five-furlong split of 1:00.4, suggests he’s ready to make an impact after his five-month break.

If both Dothraki and Incredible Jo live up to their potential, it could be a real barn-burner of a race. The clash between
Dothraki’s fresh form and Incredible Jo’s proven track record would make for a thrilling contest, with either horse capable of stealing the show. The stage is set for an exciting showdown.
