KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Health Fund (NHF) says all NHFCard Centres across the island are open and prepared to assist Jamaicans who misplaced their NHFCards during the passage of Hurricane Melissa.

In a statement on Monday, the NHF urged individuals needing a replacement card to visit any open centre and speak with a representative to obtain a new one. All locations are currently operational and ready to provide support.

Members of the public may visit any of the following NHFCard Centres:

• St Elizabeth: Santa Cruz Health Centre, Black River Hospital

• Westmoreland: Savanna-la-Mar Public General Hospital

• Hanover: Noel Holmes Hospital

• St James: Cornwall Regional Hospital, Mount Salem Health Centre

• Trelawny: Falmouth Hospital

• St Ann: St Ann’s Bay Hospital

• Clarendon: May Pen Hospital, Lionel Town Hospital

• Manchester: Mandeville Regional Hospital, Percy Junor Hospital

• St Mary: Port Maria Hospital

• St Catherine: Spanish Town Hospital, Linstead Hospital, Greater Portmore Health Centre Drug Serv

• Kingston & St Andrew: NHF Head Office, Kingston Public Hospital, Union Square Drug Serv

• St Thomas: Princess Margaret Hospital

• Portland: Port Antonio Hospital

Operating hours for NHFCard Centres are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Mondays to Thursdays, and 8:30 am to 3:30 pm on Fridays. The NHF Head Office operates from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm, Mondays to Thursdays, and 7:00 am to 3:30 pm on Fridays.

The NHF noted that maintaining access to subsidised medication is critical as many Jamaicans work to rebuild after the hurricane. Currently, 118 of 148 NHF Provider Pharmacies across the six hardest-hit parishes are open, representing 80 per cent service restoration. The parish breakdown is:

• St Elizabeth: 19 of 24 (79%)

• Westmoreland: 21 of 26 (81%)

• St James: 28 of 40 (70%)

• Hanover: 7 of 11 (64%)

• Trelawny: 7 of 10 (70%)

• St Ann: 36 of 37 (97%)

The reopening of participating pharmacies ensures residents in affected areas can continue filling prescriptions and accessing NHFCard discounts.
