New year spectacle
FROM Kingston to Ocho Rios, Montego Bay, Black River, and Negril, the night sky lit up to welcome the new year as part of the 2025 National Fireworks Festival, which has since been hailed by the organiser — the Urban Development Corporation (UDC) — as a resounding success.
UDC said the celebrations drew thousands of Jamaicans across the five locations. From early evening venues were filled with excitement as patrons enjoyed musical selections, family friendly activities and a vibrant festive ambiance, culminating in breathtaking midnight fireworks displays.
