WATCH: Iconic DJs bring the vibes at Dubwise for Melissa victims

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Sound system pioneer Rory Stone Love, legendary selector David Rodigan and Renaissance Disco’s Jazzy T and Delano were among a stellar line-up of DJs who delivered memorable sets Friday night at the Dubwise: Many Rivers to Cross event presented by the BREDS Treasure Beach Foundation in aid of victims of Hurricane Melissa.

Proceeds from the event, which was held at 10A West King’s House Road, will support the ongoing work of the BREDS Treasure Beach Foundation as it continues to assist families and community initiatives across St Elizabeth following the passage of Hurricane Melissa.

The venue was jam-packed as scores of persons turned out to support the cause and revel in the authentic sound system experience of dub, roots and reggae heritage.

Described by organisers as more than a party, Dubwise is set up to be a cultural moment honouring the legacy and evolution of reggae music.

The work of the Breds Foundation is concentrated in St Elizabeth and while the foundation has been critical in supporting seaside communities after hurricanes Beryl and Melissa, it is an organisation committed to community development and youth empowerment.
