Valiant to serve dancehall in Colorado Springs for first-ever live show

Dancehall and reggae lovers in the state of Colorado can brace themselves for an epic showcase as Valiant gets ready to make his stage début in the state.

The headline act for ‘Dis A Reggae’, promoters say Valiant has showcased immense star power over the years and they’re expecting a blazing performance when the Speed Off singer graces the stage come February 21.

In an interview with the Jamaica Observer, Eton Pearcy of Jamrock Events, organisers of Dis A Reggae, said Valiant is excited about his upcoming show. He said, equally excited are his fans across the state, as the usually quiet west-coast market looks forward to some much-needed dancehall vibes.

“The reaction has been overwhelmingly positive. People are excited — and honestly shocked — to see Valiant coming to Colorado. We’ve spent years building a strong reputation for quality delivery, and the online traffic and engagement clearly reflect that momentum towards a sold-out event,” said Pearcy. “Colorado is a growing entertainment hub, but historically fewer dancehall artistes focus on markets outside of the East Coast. Valiant was very open to performing here and saw the opportunity to expand the reach of dancehall into a new space. His team trusted me with the proper representation of the talent and Brand Jamaica, allowing us to introduce this sound and culture to a wider audience in a meaningful way.”

Outlining that though the event’s title is suggestive of a focus on traditional reggae acts, Pearcy said the show is geared toward representing all elements and genres of Jamaica’s music.

“While there is a distinction between reggae and dancehall, both are authentic products of Caribbean culture. The audience in Colorado is very aware of Jamaica and reggae, and our goal is to present the culture holistically,” he said. “We intentionally curate immersive experiences that reflect all aspects of Jamaican music and identity, and Valiant represents the modern evolution of that culture. This will be Valiant’s first performance in Colorado, and it definitely adds to the excitement. He and I have had several conversations about ensuring the fans receive a top-tier, memorable show that lives up to expectations.”

Like he did when he brought Sizzla to Colorado last August, Pearcy will be using the event to raise funds for his Partial Incentives Breakfast Programme. The initiative, once underway, is set to benefit his alma mater, Windward Road Primary School.

“Jamrock Events has privately supported many causes over the years. We’ve now decided to be more vocal because the social initiatives we manage are real and require real effort. Progress is closely tied to donor alignment and shared belief in the importance of the initiative. I remain optimistic. Our goal is to officially launch the programme in 2026, and increased public awareness, donor interest, and partnerships with cause-driven artistes and brands will help accelerate that timeline,” he shared. “Valiant is just as excited about pleasing his fans as he is about the children who will benefit from this event.”

Seeing that the event will be held the weekend after Valentine’s Day celebrations, Pearcy said music lovers can still use the event as an opportunity to celebrate the season of love.

“For lovers of love, expect a post-Valentine’s Day dancehall love story. Passenger princesses will have a night to remember, and the students of Windward Road Primary School will be one step closer to achieving the goals of this project,” he shared.

“Colorado may not be as saturated with Caribbean residents as the East Coast, but the influence is very present. Many businesses — Caribbean and non-Caribbean alike — understand and respect the language, history, and impact of our culture,” he added. “Sizzla sold out. Valiant will sell out. Future shows, when packaged correctly, will also sell out. Why? Because Brand Jamaica is massive. Hundreds of seasonal workers, military personnel, and true lovers of the culture live in Colorado, and they continue to support Jamrock Events and other organisations that genuinely value roots, culture, and immigrant communities.”
