A Borderless Love

Love knows no borders and heeds no distance. For Jamaicans Lacy-Ann Anderson and Leroy Haynes, a simple introduction blossomed into an inseparable bond, beautifully illustrating how one moment can define a lifetime.

How They Met

A digital spark was struck in 2017 when Lacy-Ann, then based in Canada, and Leroy, residing in the United Kingdom, met on Facebook. After a quick word with a mutual friend, Leroy took a leap of faith and reached out. Once Lacy-Ann replied, conversation flowed effortlessly.

“We hit it off immediately. What started as a simple conversation quickly deepened into a genuine connection — the kind of effortless rapport that makes you pause and realise, this feels different,” Lacy-Ann shared with Tuesday Style Vows (TSV).

Coming from neighbouring communities — Lacy-Ann from Scott’s Pass, Clarendon and Leroy from Porus, Manchester — their connection was almost instantaneous. “The more we spoke, the more I realised that this wasn’t just chemistry, it was compatibility,” Lacy-Ann said. “Leroy said that he knew from the very first moment he saw me.”

The Proposal

When they finally met in person during a return trip to Jamaica in 2018, their bond was instantly solidified. Lacy found herself drawn to Leroy’s steady presence, his consistency, and the clear vision he held for their future together. That vision became a beautiful reality on February 3 2025, when Leroy proposed.

“He travelled all the way to Toronto just to see me,” Lacy-Ann recalled. “He had even coordinated with a mutual friend to organise a photo shoot for me at Longman Studio in Brampton. I arrived thinking it was simply a regular session, but the day quickly turned extraordinary,” Lacy-Ann recalled. “He went down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. Of course, I said yes!”

The Wedding

The couple’s journey came together in fine style on January 4, 2026, at The Lavish Palms in Kingston. A vision in white, Lacy-Ann wore a custom ballerina gown as she was escorted up the aisle by her brother, Hugh Roy Anderson, to Beyoncé’s cover of Ave Maria. Waiting patiently was bridegroom Leroy. Pastor Shane O’Connor was the wedding officiant.

The reception kicked off with a sumptuous dinner, followed by heartfelt toasts to the newly-weds. After cutting the cake, Lacy-Ann and Leroy opened the dance floor to Shania Twain’s From This Moment — a symbolic union of two souls becoming one.

The couple will honeymoon at a later date.
