Juggling album celebrates Happy Wife rhythm
Scikron Entertainment — Big Yard Music launched the Happy Wife rhythm with its début track You Don’t Have to Ask by Christopher Martin.
This track carries the heartbeat of reggae, blending a classic and timeless feel that transports listeners to a simpler time.
Within a week of release the infectious beat entered the iTunes top 100 charts.
This release offers reggae enthusiasts a warm musical experience rooted in Jamaica’s rich rhythm tradition.
Led by legendary producer Robert Livingston, known for creating memorable rhythms, the project exudes a reggae vibe with clean guitar skanks, drums that sit comfortably in the pocket, and warm baselines reminiscent of nostalgic Jamaican evenings. It evokes the era when a single instrumental could inspire multiple hits across dancehall, radio, and sound system sessions.
Part one of the juggling album was released on February 21, 2026, delivering a rich showcase of contemporary reggae artistry, uniting an impressive line-up of voices. The Happy Wife rhythm juggling album features standout selections including My Last Nerve by Alaine, Any Season by Jahzeal, Melanin Queen by Lutan Fyah, Rebuild by Akeen Fennell, She’s All Mind by Shawn Antoine, and Had to Say Hi by Thrillarush anchored by a live, authentic reggae sound.
The rhythm is driven by drummer Shaun “Natty” Darson, bassist Jerome “Squidly” Small, keyboardists Carol “Bowie” McLaughlin and Shawn Antoine, and guitarist Kenroy “Shartman” Mullings. Instrumentals were recorded at the legendary Tuff Gong Recording Studio by engineer Roland McDermot, with vocals, keyboard overdubs, and final mixing completed at Big Yard Recording Studio by engineer Kamal Evens.
The project was mastered by Chris “Chrisman” Scott and visually brought to life through artwork by Aljay Hamilton, resulting in a polished reggae collection that blends classic musicianship with modern storytelling.
Fans of classic rhythm juggling will recognise its lineage. Livingston’s past work, including well-known rhythms like Stock Track, Bookshelf, Earthquake, Cold Heart, and many more, which helped shape how modern reggae bridges generations — merging contemporary polish with traditional roots. This spirit is reflected in Happy Wife, as each artiste brings their story to this irresistible groove.
What makes this project special is its theme. Inspired by the saying “Happy wife, happy life,” the album explores themes of love and relationships through diverse reggae voices. Some tracks celebrate devotion, others tell playful romantic stories — all driven by a smooth rhythmic foundation that keeps listeners swaying from start to finish.
For reggae purists, rhythm juggling remains a cherished tradition, where producers craft a musical canvas for multiple artistes to share their stories.
The Happy Wife rhythm collection will be released in volumes, meaning more artistes, more stories, and more unforgettable reggae moments are on the way. Each volume promises to bring fresh voices to this irresistible groove, expanding the legacy one release at a time.
