We Jammin the favourite for Prince Consort Stakes

The Road to the Triple Crown series of races continues for colts and geldings tomorrow with the 33rd running of the $1.75-million Prince Consort Stakes, a Graded Stakes event over 7 furlongs (1,400m).

The Jamaica Observer’s The Supreme Racing Guide takes a look at the 13 runners and their chances of winning.

1. SALUTE THE DON: (3 ch c by Aveenu Malcainu – Abicadabby) – Was an easy 8-length winner in the Sir Howard Stakes over 6 furlongs (1,200m) on March 21. Salute The Don finished second behind We Jammin in the Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes last December and could turn the tables here.

2. LONDON SPIRIT: (3 b c Bern Identity – Blufield) – His best hope is for a minor placing, not expected to challenge the front-runners.

3. DARWIN : (3 b c by Casual Trick – Cape) – Has no chance of winning this race. Darwin is going to struggle to compete.

4. SO LUCKY AM I: (3 b c Successful Native – Ashtrid) – Finished second behind Salute The Don in the Sir Howard Stakes. So Lucky Am I is an improving sort and should run well once again.

5. DASHALLDAY: (3 b c by Aveenu Malcainu – Runallday) – Finished a disappointed fourth in the recent Sir Howard Stakes run.
Dashallday is expected to run much improved race here and could be one of the top contenders here.

6. SENOR BISCOTTI: (3 b c by Savoy Stomp – Baby P) – Is going to be left behind, tough to see a path to victory.

7. WE JAMMIN: (3 ch c by Bern Identity – Jammin) – On paper the horse to beat. We Jammin stepped up to take on older horses and finished second behind American Aviator over 7 furlongs on March 1. We Jammin has already stomped his class when winning the Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes in December 2025. He is expected to lead home rivals here. He has the pedigree and form to dominate.

8. BIGGER BOSS: (3 b c by Bern Identity – Woman Is Boss) – Should make his presence felt here.

9. RED THIRTYTWO: (3 b c by Hedge Fund – Roses for Elle) – Has no business here.

10. GOD’S PLAN: (3 ch c by Aveenu Malcainu – Fearless Abi) – Cannot be recommended for a winning run, tough to see him winning against this field.

11. STARDOM: (3 b c by Sensational Slam – Trinket Box) – Was a disappointment in his last start, but worked well since then. Could pose a threat to the front-runners, watch for a surprise.

12. FERNANDO: (3 ch c by Successful Native – Dancing Queen) – Came from behind to beat Any Means at 6 furlongs. Fernando should enjoy the distance and have a strong finish, could sneak into the mix.

13. FIDELITY: (3 b g by Bern Identity – Hush My Darling) –Can safely be bypassed, not a threat in this race.
