Express Fitness mourns death of beloved trainer
The Express Fitness Limited family is mourning the death of Andro Henry, one of their team’s more dedicated and beloved trainers.
Henry died on Monday at the age of 51, roughly a week after suffering a heart attack and a stroke.
Deon Earle, the fitness and wellness coordinator at Express, told Observer Online on Tuesday that Henry, who was a father and husband, spent just over three years working with the company.
“It is a great loss. He was a very reliable instructor and he would show up, rain or sunshine. He was well known in the fitness industry and he was very, very good at what he did,” Earle said.
She shared that Henry came on board with the team initially as an external instructor. He went on to conduct quite a number of classes and was very popular especially among older clients.
“He had a day class three times a week. He did spin, aerobics and abs classes. He was very beloved in the fitness community, not just at Express Fitness.”
Chief Executive Officer, Michelle Gordon, described Henry as a member of the family who had a way of making everyone feel energetic and confident.
“Every spin class, every senior class, every interaction, he was a source of positivity. For three years, he pushed all of us to do better and to be better. We are heartbroken, but we’ll carry that spirit forward in his honour,” Gordon said.
