Dinesty King seeks reign with signature sound
...makes début with Reality rhythm project
Creating his own sound as a producer, with the aim of differentiating himself from the pack, Dinesty King decided to hone his craft carefully before releasing a major project.
He made his début with the Reality rhythm project, which was released in January.
“I’ve been involved in music from a young age, starting around 14. Over the years, I’ve developed my craft into a professional level, working with major artistes and building my own sound. I bring a unique blend of dancehall, trap energy, and emotional storytelling. My sound is not just about vibes, it’s about creating music that connects, uplifts, and leaving a lasting impact,” Dinesty King told the Jamaica Observer recently.
Released under the Dinesty Kxng Muzik label, the Reality rhythm features a strong line-up of acts, each delivering a different perspective on life and growth. They include Tommy Lee Sparta, Prohgress, Vershon, Jahtorious, Grimboss, and Vetran.
“The feedback has been very positive. People are connecting with the message behind the rhythm, especially the theme of believing in yourself and staying true to who you are. It’s getting strong reactions both locally and internationally,” he said, while noting that getting the artistes involved was a process. “It was a process, but once the vision was clear, the artistes connected with it naturally. When the music is real and the message is strong, the right artistes gravitate towards it.”
The 30-year-old Dinesty King, real name Shannarey Brown, is originally from Falmouth. He grew up around music, where he experimented, learnt the ropes, and perfected his sound over time, until he decided to take music seriously.
“What separates me is the emotion and intention behind every production. I focus on creating a full experience — clean sound, strong melodies, and a message that people can feel. It’s not just beats; it’s a signature sound,” he confided.
Beyond the Reality rhythm project, Dinesty King is spearheading the Walk of Fame movement alongside Vershon. More than just a track, it’s a dance-driven cultural moment already gaining traction among fans and dancers.
“We’re pushing a full experience with the Walk of Fame — music and dance together. It’s about creating something people can participate in, not just listen to,” he said.
Adding to his growing catalogue is Ride It, a song by dancehall artiste Dovey Magnum.
“Ride It brings that raw, exciting vibe. It’s a track that naturally pulls attention and adds another layer to what we’re building,” he noted.
Dinesty King is working on a collaborative EP with Vershon slated for release later this year. The project promises to highlight his versatility and production range.
