Blood trail maps final moments of St James murder victim
MONTEGO BAY, St James — A 278-foot blood trail in sections of this town is among the evidence in a murder case now before the court as three men face charges in connection with the killing of 35-year-old Andrew “Filppa” Graham, of Green Pond in the parish.
Charged are 23-year-old Akeemo Brooks, 39-year-old Miguel Whitelock, and 34-year-old Delwayne Brown, all of Green Pond addresses.
They appeared in the St James Parish Court for the first time on Wednesday, where they were remanded.
Whitelock is represented by attorney-at-law Chrishana Fregenette, while attorney-at-law Noel Butler is representing Brooks.
Brown appeared without legal representative as attorney-at-law Tamika Spencer-Anderson told the court she was not in a position to address the matter at this time. She said she had been asked by Brown’s family to settle certain issues with her at the end of the month.
Court records indicate that Graham was last seen alive about 10:00 pm on March 17, walking in the People’s Arcade in Montego Bay. His body was found beside a shop about 6:45 the following morning, by residents who raised an alarm.
On arrival police found Graham lying on his back with what appeared to be a chop wound to the back of his left leg. The scene was processed and two blood samples, along with a swab, were collected for analysis.
Graham was transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators reported finding a blood trail stretching from the rear gate of the Montego Bay Transportation Centre into the People’s Arcade, ending at the location where the body was found.
During Wednesday’s sitting the clerk of the court said the post-mortem report, forensic report, scene of crime statement, and arresting officer’s statement were still outstanding.
No bail application was made on behalf of the three men who were ordered remanded. They are scheduled to return to court on April 30.
