Jamaica’s Walker edged by BVI’s Hodge in 100m at college meet in Florida
Jamaican sprinter Shenese Walker of Florida State University (FSU) placed second in the women’s 100m at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational in Florida on Saturday behind University of Georgia freshman and British Virgin Islands starlet Adaejah Hodge.
Walker clocked a personal best of 10.80 seconds to secure second place behind Hodge, who ran 10.77 seconds. Cynteria James of South Carolina placed third with 11.04 seconds.
Last month, the FSU senior won the 60m title at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division 1 track and field Indoor Championships at the Tyson Sports Complex at the University of Arkansas.
She won in 7.08 seconds to win the event ahead of Hodge, who was second in 7.15 seconds, the same time as third-placed Victoria Cameron of Tarleton State.
