Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited (SVREL) will host an all-day celebration of World Veterinary Day on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Caymanas Park, in partnership with the Jamaica Racing Commission (JRC) and the Jamaica Equine Veterinary Association (JEVA).

The event will bring this year’s global theme from the World Veterinary Association — “Veterinarians: Guardians of Food and Health” — to life at Jamaica’s only racetrack. Veterinarians, racing stakeholders, and the public will come together to recognise the essential role of veterinary professionals in protecting animal welfare, public health, and the integrity of the racing industry.

Activities will include educational talks, video presentations, and public engagement focused on equine welfare, responsible medication use, and biosecurity. In keeping with the theme, the celebration will also explore the concept of One Health — emphasising the link between people, animals, and the environment. Racehorse retirement initiatives will also be highlighted, reinforcing the JRC’s commitment to the long-term care of horses beyond their racing careers. To honour veterinarians in racing, selected races on the day’s card will be named in recognition of distinguished vets.

The featured trophy races include the Jamaica Equine Veterinary Association Trophy, the World Veterinary Day Trophy, and the Jamaica Racing Commission Trophy.
