Yaksta and The Carey James collab on ‘Strength of a Lion’

Fast rising reggae artiste The Carey James has joined forces with reggae star Yaksta and trending producer Spyda Meng for their new single Strength of a Lion.

The collaboration which was released on April 17 via Pondemik Records has already amassed over 150,000 streams.

The witty social commentary based lyrics were eloquently and melodically placed on a rich, roots-inspired instrumental created by Spyda Meng; the track blends militant reggae energy with a modern sound, delivering a powerful message of resilience, faith and perseverance.

Yaksta, known for his gritty, conscious delivery and authentic storytelling, adds depth and authority to the record, complementing Carey James’ commanding vocal presence.

Driven by the anthem-like hook calling for “the strength of a lion”, the song speaks to overcoming struggle and staying mentally strong in the face of adversity. With conscious lyrics addressing inequality, global conflict and social division, the record expands into a unifying call for peace, highlighting nations across Africa in a plea for “no more war”.

Together, the artists create a bold and timely statement rooted in culture, awareness and strength.

Strength of a Lion is available on all major digital streaming platforms.
