LEGACY Isle announced his 2026 campaign in devastating fashion, routing the field by 10¾ lengths in the $1.75-million Reggae Trophy at Caymanas Park on Saturday.

The Graded Stakes/Open Allowance feature for three-year-olds and upward over five furlongs straight drew a quality field but the Rohan Crichton trainee made it a one-horse show. Making his seasonal debut, Legacy Isle stopped the clock in a brisk 57.1 seconds.

Raddesh Roman had Legacy Isle away smartly from the gates, matching strides early with Mighty Gully and Tajay Suckoo. The pair raced head to head down the centre of the track until approaching the dummy rails at the two-furlong (800m) marker. That’s where the contest ended.

Roman gave Legacy Isle his cue and the response was instant. He burst clear in a matter of strides, opening an unassailable lead that only grew inside the final furlong (200m). He crossed the line under a hand ride, easing down late.

Pack Plays, with Richie Shakes aboard, rallied for second while Another One and Joy Haynes completed the trifecta. Mighty Gully faded to finish last of the six runners after his early exertions.

It was the second winner for Roman as he also won aboard Wilson for trainer Oral Hayden in the opening race. Hayden went on to saddle Wayne’s Princess (Dane Dawkins) in the fifth race for his double also. Dawkins also won aboard  Miss Marbella in the second race for trainer Peter-John Parsard, for his double success.

Also with two winners was jockey Robert Halledeen who won aboard Super David for trainer David Powell in the sixth race, and California Crown for trainer Jason DaCosta in the ninth and final event.
