WATCH: Truck driver escapes injury after unit overturns on Spur Tree Hill

MANCHESTER, Jamaica — A truck driver narrowly escaped serious injury after the unit he was driving overturned on the Spur Tree Hill main road in Manchester Tuesday morning.

Preliminary reports are that about 8:00 am the driver lost control of the unit as it negotiated a corner resulting in the truck overturning.

The impact also resulted in the cargo area of the box truck being damaged. Several boxes reportedly containing groceries were strewn across the roadway. There were no reports of looting.

Two weeks ago two elderly people narrowly escaped serious injuries after their car plunged over a precipice on the crash prone Spur Tree Hill main road.

On April 7, two people also died after a truck laden with cement went off Spur Tree Hill in a crash.
