Supligen honours downtown vendor after viral livestream moment
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A viral interaction between popular American streamer IShowSpeed and a Downtown Kingston vendor during the content creator’s recent visit to Jamaica has now resulted in a major show of appreciation from Supligen.
Tenneil Campbell, who captured widespread attention after handing the streamer a can of Supligen during a livestream in Downtown Kingston, was surprised on Saturday with a one-year supply of the beverage, a new cellphone and a gift basket courtesy of the Seprod Group.
The moment, which quickly circulated across social media platforms, became one of the standout highlights from IShowSpeed’s stop in Jamaica, with many viewers praising the authenticity and humour of the exchange.
Campbell, a vendor of more than 20 years in Downtown Kingston, said he decided to approach the streamer after hearing the excitement surrounding his visit to the island.
According to Campbell, he believed offering Speed a can of Supligen would help give the content creator an energy boost as he travelled across various sections of the island during the tour.
The longtime vendor, who regularly sells water, juices, coconut jelly and Supligen from his cooler, quickly became a trending topic online as Jamaicans rallied behind him and celebrated the interaction as a genuine representation of Jamaican culture and personality.
Speaking during the presentation, Supligen Brand Manager Deidra Grey said the company felt compelled to recognise Campbell after witnessing the overwhelming response generated by the viral clip.
“After we saw the viral moment created by Tenneil, we knew we had to pay him a visit and personally ‘big him up’ for creating such an authentic Jamaican experience,” Grey said.
“Everybody knows Supligen boosts you up, and that is exactly what Tenneil did in that moment. We are proud to celebrate him and show appreciation for the impact he created, not just for the brand, but for Jamaica as well,” she added.
The company noted that the interaction reflects the energy, authenticity and entrepreneurial spirit Jamaicans continue to display on the global stage.
