Belgian mother-daughter DJ duo Brooke x Taliyah set for Jamaica debut at club MECA

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Kingston’s nightlife scene is set for an international musical fusion as Belgian mother-daughter DJ duo Brooke x Taliyah prepares to make their highly anticipated Jamaica debut at Club MECA Thursday night.

Staged under the theme International Night: Europe Meets Jamaica, the event is being hosted by the Marketplace Entertainment Centre for the Arts (MECA) in association with Main Event Entertainment Group Limited at Club MECA, located at 67 Constant Spring Road in Kingston.

Known across Europe for their electrifying performances and unique cross-generational appeal, DJs Brooke Bailey and Taliyah Ayana have built a strong international following while performing together as Brooke x Taliyah. The duo has reportedly performed in more than 50 countries and at several major outdoor music festivals around the world.

Their upcoming appearance marks the first time Jamaican audiences will experience the Belgian act live on local soil, something organisers describe as a major moment for both the venue and Jamaica’s entertainment landscape.

“This performance marks a significant moment not only for MECA as it launches its international campaign ahead of a major cultural showcase in Portugal this summer, but also for Jamaica’s entertainment scene,” organisers shared.

Representing Jamaica on the lineup will be popular selectors Chiney K and Vinci, alongside Japanese-Jamaican DJ Bad Gyal Marie, creating what organisers say will be a true international musical exchange.

Patrons can expect an energetic mix of dancehall, Afrobeats and international sounds, alongside the playful “friendly clash of the eras” concept Brooke x Taliyah has become known for overseas. The Jamaican DJs are also expected to bring their own competitive flair to the night before the event culminates in an Afrobeats versus Dancehall dance-off.

According to organisers, Main Event Entertainment Group Limited joined the partnership to help ensure the production delivers the high-level execution both companies are known for.

The event officially kicks off at 9:00 pm, with organisers noting that the early start time was intentionally designed to allow fans from multiple generations to enjoy the experience together.

Clubgoers can also take advantage of a limited ladies’ free-entry list as well as special admission offers for patrons with college IDs.
