Lue on show
Nick Lue, Jamaica’s top automotive YouTuber, recently announced that he will be putting on Skvnk Fest on Sunday, June 7, at Cinema 2, New Kingston.
“It just felt like the right timing. The culture has grown in many ways. The Skvnk Lifestyle brand has been doing digital content and felt as if it’s time now to do our own show to celebrate the car culture of Jamaica,” Lue told the Jamaica Observer’s weekly Auto magazine.
According to the social media tracking site, Lue’s YouTube channel, Skvnk Lifestyle, sits at 159,000 subscribers worldwide and has just over 20 million views. He’s even more popular on Instagram, where his photo-kinetic energy draws just under a quarter-million followers.
The Skvnk Lifestyle brand features local, diaspora, and Caribbean car content as Lue travels the region occasionally meeting other YouTube automotive celebrities, including HondaPro Jason, Michael Schublacker, and Jamie Sonuga from the UK’s OFFICIALLY GASSED channel.
With Skvnk Fest 2026, Lue wants to return from the virtual to IRL.
“The last time I held a car show was 10 years ago, as Skunk Nation,” Lue said.
In keeping with his comment on how Jamaican car culture has changed, Skvnk Fest 2026 will also update itself from the car shows of old. There will be competitions, like a 2Step Shootout and a Car Stereo Sound off, but the cars themselves are to be a curated display that runs the gamut from street, to tuned, exotics, and motor sports.
“It will be what we call freestyle, but with a twist. It will have a variety of entertainment,” explained Lue.
That variety is set to include the likes of drifting and bike stunts, among others.
