Super David given edge in Monday Morning Trophy
The 10th running of the $1.1-million Monday Morning Trophy takes centre stage on tomorrow’s 9-race card at Caymanas Park.
The Restricted Allowance II contest for native-bred three-year-olds who are non-winners of two has attracted a field of eight over 7 furlongs (1,400m).
Here’s how The Supreme Racing Guide sees each runner’s chances:
1. MINNEHA: (3 b f by Savoy Stomp – Red Gold) – Not expected to be a major factor here.
2. CHARMING CHATERBOX: (3 b f by Successful Native – Morning Glory) – Won impressively on debut on February 21, scoring by 9¼ lengths over 5½ furlongs (1,100m) in 1:08.3. With natural improvement expected, she’s firmly in the mix for top honours.
3. DARWIN: (3 b c by Casual Trick – Cape) – Has shown no form to suggest he’s ready to win this.
4. SUPER DAVID: (3 b g by Patton Proud – Storm Girl) – Romped home by 8¼ lengths over 6½ furlongs (1,300m) in 1:20.2 on May 2. The extra half-furlong shouldn’t be an issue, and with the 2000 Guineas in mind, he looks capable of making it two in a row.
5. LONDON SPIRIT: ( 3 b c by Bern Identity – Bluefield) – Doesn’t appear to have the class to win this.
6. TIA MARIA: (3 ch f by Bold Conquest – Zacapa) – Returns after a 148-day layoff. She last ran December 26, 2025, finishing seventh in the Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes. She’s been working well for her seasonal debut. Whether she needs the run or not, she has the class and talent to take this.
7. STRONG AVEENU: (3 b c by Aveenu Malcainu – Ruby Rose) – Won last time out but isn’t expected to repeat.
8. FIDELITY: (3 b g by Bern Identity – Hush My Darling) – Likely to be left behind.
