A weekend of high stakes in Europe

Bayern chase the double in the DFB Pokal final, while Tottenham face a do-or-die clash with Everton on Premier League final day

The stage is set for a spectacular DFB Pokal final in Berlin, when Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich and defending DFB Pokal champions Stuttgart go head-to-head, then on Sunday, Tottenham will try to avoid being relegated from the Premier League by winning their final home game of the season.

Event # 1 – DFB Cup – Bayern Munich vs Stuttgart– 1:00 PM

The newly crowned German champions, Bayern Munich, square off against the defending DFB Cup holders, Stuttgart, in a match that pits the league’s most dominant side against its most resilient Cup fighter. Indeed, Bayern are chasing a first domestic league double since 2020, while Stuttgart is aiming to become the first back-to-back DFB Pokal winners in a decade. With that said, Bayern Munich will enter this final as the overwhelming favourites as they have dominated Stuttgart in the three meetings so far this season. Bayern won 2-1 in the Super Cup, 5-0 in the league, and 4-2 to clinch the league title a few weeks ago. Moreover, Bayern Munich has lost just once in the Bundesliga this season and scored a whopping 122 goals from their 34 matches played, so they will be confident of securing their second title to close off their campaign.

Meanwhile, Stuttgart enter this DFB Pokal final having lost just one of their last 15-DFB Pokal ties, demonstrating that they are a side that relishes cup competitions. It is worth noting that Stuttgart had the second-best attack in the league, having scored 71 goals from their 34 matches, which means fans could be treated to a goal fest to end the season. With that said, Stuttgart, similar to their opponents, have also had an excellent season, having secured a top four league finish to secure European football next season – now they will be aiming to pull off one of the most unlikely upset in history by beating Bayern Munich, to defend the title they won last year.

Key Stats

•Bayern Munich unbeaten in their last 11 home matches but both teams have scored in six of Bayern’s last seven matches.

•Stuttgart unbeaten in their last five matches and have scored at least one goal in each of their last seven matches.

• Both sides – When named as the home team, Bayern Munich are unbeaten against Stuttgart in their last seven meetings, with Stuttgart’s last away win against Bayern coming in 2018. Bayern have also won the last five head-to-head meetings with Stuttgart by an aggregate scoreline of 18-4.

The betting tip: Bayern Munich win.

Event # EPL– Tottenham vs Everton– 10:00 AM

Tottenham will host Everton on the final day of the season, aiming to avoid being relegated from the Premier League. Indeed, Tottenham has been awful at home this season with just two wins from their 18 home games so far. However, Everton is the kindest possible final day opponents they could have asked for, as Tottenham has won each of their last four home matches against Everton, and Everton arrives at the London stadium winless in their last five matches, including a 3-1 beating at the hands of Sunderland last weekend.

Everton’s European hopes were dashed following their defeat to Sunderland, and they now travel to Tottenham with little to play for other than pride, and the omens are not in their favour, having lost their last four matches against Tottenham — 4-0, 2-1, 2-0 and 5-0.Their only win against Tottenham in recent times was a 3-2 win in January 2025. Now it all comes down to this final match for Tottenham, which is a “must-not-lose” game, to avoid the embarrassment of being relegated as one of the highest revenue generators in the Premier League.

Key Stats

•Tottenham has been awful at home this season, winning just two of their 18 matches and have conceded a massive 57 goals at home this season.

•Everton is winless in their last six league matches and last victory at Tottenham was in 2020.

•Both sides – Tottenham is unbeaten in their last four home matches against Everton, while Everton has conceded at least one goal in each of their last seven matches.

The betting tip: Tottenham win.
