Allied Protection Foundation lends helping hand at hurricane-hit St James basic school
A team from the Allied Protection Foundation headed west on Saturday to assist in restoration efforts at the DRB Grant Demonstration Basic School in Catherine Hall, Montego Bay.
The efforts were undertaken as part of the foundation’s activities for Labour Day 2026.
In a press release on Thursday, the Allied Foundation highlighted that the school was still reeling from devastation caused by the Category 5 Hurricane Melissa on October 28 last year.
“The Foundation’s involvement reflects its ongoing commitment to support early childhood education and communities affected by natural disasters across Jamaica,” the press release read.
Allied shared that in collaboration with the JN Foundation, Rainbow Appliances and Maa Sai Enterprise Limited, their workers will do painting and create murals.
The team also donated a 1,000-gallon water tank and a 32-inch smart television to the school.
Allied said it has consolidated its three major charitable initiatives under its newly established Foundation.
Allied Foundation also has a breakfast programme at the Clan Carthy Primary School in St Andrew and the Donald Williams Scholarship.
“These initiatives reflect the company’s ongoing commitment to education, community development, and social responsibility.”
