‘Journey to Kingston’ to rock Miramar
Jamaica’s reggae and dancehall excellence will be on full display internationally as Journey to Kingston delivers a powerhouse musical showcase at Miramar Cultural Centre in Florida on Saturday, May 30.
Designed as an immersive celebration of Jamaican culture, the event will feature an unmatched blend of legendary performers and contemporary stars, reinforcing Jamaica’s global influence as the heartbeat of reggae and dancehall music.
At the heart of this highly anticipated event is the earth-strong celebration of dancehall icon Spragga Benz, whose contribution to Jamaican music and culture spans more than three decades.
Revered as one of the pioneers who helped shape modern dancehall, Spragga Benz has consistently delivered music that reflects the voice, struggles, and vibrancy of the Jamaican people.
From the early 1990s Spragga Benz has remained a defining force in the genre — bridging generations with a catalogue of hits and a lyrical style that blends authenticity, social commentary, and street-level storytelling. His impact extends beyond music, influencing fashion, film, and the global perception of Jamaican culture, while helping to cement dancehall as a dominant force on the world stage.
Further elevating the experience, Journey to Kingston will feature an impressive supporting cast of Caribbean heavyweights including Wayne Wonder, Agent Sasco, Stephen Marley, Damian Marley, Ky-Mani Marley, Tanya Stephens, Everton Blender, Bugle, Pressure Busspipe, Kevin Lyttle, Yohan Marley, Don Yute, and a special showcase from Spragga’s own Red Square tribe.
Patrons will also experience a special live set from Bigg D & The Florida Memorial University Orchestra, seamlessly blending orchestral arrangements with the rhythms of reggae and dancehall for a one-of-a-kind performance.
The event will be hosted by Papa Keith and powered by top DJs, including Supa Twitch, DJ Bambino, Foota Hype, Jazzy T, and Timmy HMV, ensuring nonstop entertainment throughout the night.
With a pre-event red carpet experience as well, Journey to Kingston is more than just a concert, it is a full cultural immersion designed to bring the sights, sounds, and energy of Jamaica to an international audience.
Presented by the Miramar Cultural Center and hosted by Commissioner Maxwell B Chambers, the event highlights the continued global demand for Jamaican music and the importance of cultural exchange.
