Carey McLeod banned two years for whereabouts violation
Two-time national men’s long jump champion Carey McLeod has been banned for two years by World Athletics’ Athletes Integrity Unit (AIU) for a whereabout violation, it was reported on Monday.
McLeod, who was a bronze medalist at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in 2024 in China, was reported to have admitted the anti-doping rule violation and accepted the sanction after missing three tests in a 12-month period.
Athletes are obligated to make them selves available for random testing but three failures in a 12-month period will result in harsh sanctions.
Reports are that he missed testing on June 30, 2025, August 9 2025 and May 1 2026.
His period of ineligibility runs from May 28, 2026 to May 27, 2028.
