This thematic distillation of the work of St Augustine, bishop of Hippo, appeared between 395 AD and 430. But it may just as well have been penned between Thursday, May 14, 2026 and Saturday, May 16, 2026 on the celebratory weekend for the formal opening of Treasure Beach Village on the island of Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI).

The latest addition to Beaches TCI, Treasure Beach Village debuts a new concept of pleasure drawn from “surrounding seascape, blending soft coastal tones with natural textures to create spaces that feel both elevated and effortlessly relaxed — proof that when it comes to family travel, style and substance can happily share a room”, says Sandals Resorts International, its creator. Could St Augustine have foreseen this slice of paradise so long ago in time?
