Michael Lee-Chin presented with key to Falmouth
TRELAWNY, Jamaica — Mayor of Falmouth C Junior Gager on Wednesday presented a key to the town to Michael Lee-Chin, chairman of National Commercial Bank Financial Group Limited (NCBFG), during a brief function at the historic Falmouth Cruise Port.
The symbolic gesture recognised Lee-Chin’s long-standing relationship with the Trelawny Municipal Corporation (TMC) and the National Commercial Bank, as well as his contribution to economic development in the parish and across Jamaica.
In a brief address, Gager highlighted the strong partnership between the municipality and NCB, noting the institution’s consistent support and quality service over the years. He also pointed to the ongoing commercial expansion in Falmouth, including developments at Champion Plaza, as indicators of the town’s growing economic significance.
The handcrafted key, produced by a local artisan, was presented as a mark of appreciation for Lee-Chin’s leadership, business achievements and national impact, Gager underscored.
Lee-Chin’s visit to Falmouth on Wednesday forms part of his ongoing stakeholder engagement and national development thrust and includes an official tour of Falmouth aimed at strengthening ties with commercial customers, public sector leaders and community institutions, while showcasing investment and economic activity in the parish, particularly at the Falmouth Pier and among small and medium-sized enterprises.
The day’s activities will culminate with the soft opening of NCB’s new Falmouth branch at Champion Plaza on Market Street, where the institution will be relocated.
Among those participating in the tour are members of the boards of directors of NCB Jamaica and NCB Financial Group, Custos of Trelawny Hugh Gentles, Mayor Gager and members of the TMC and key NCB business customers.
