Beauty among the ruins…
Couple says ‘I Do’ at storm-battered cathedral
WHEN Hurricane Melissa tore through Black River, St Elizabeth last October, it left the beloved St John’s Anglican Parish Church scarred and weathered — but it could not shake the resolve of one determined couple.
Howard Brown and Dahlia Dennis had long dreamed of exchanging vows at this historic landmark, and while the storm damage forced them to move the ceremony from the church they were not going to give up on their dream.
With the church’s aged brick walls and rustic wooden doors as their backdrop, the newlyweds shared tender, joyful photo moments that spoke volumes about the power of love — steady, unshaken, and beautiful even in the face of hardship.
Captured by the lens of John McBean of McBean Photographypro, the images remind us that love, much like the church itself, endures. In the midst of ruins, the Browns found the perfect setting to begin their forever — a testament that some things are simply too strong to be broken by any storm.
