JACANA unveils platform to improve the future of Caribbean Wellness

In a move to enhance botanical personal care, therapeutic plant medicines, nature-based experiences and modern apothecaries under one platform, Jamaica-owned company JACANA is moving into the expansion of its Botanical Personal Care line across the region.

The company has unveiled its Caribbean Wellness Platform, bringing together botanical personal care, therapeutic plant medicines, immersive nature-based experiences and apothecary retail under one brand.

Built on a 100-acre USDA Organic certified farm in the mountains of St Ann, JACANA has spent years cultivating plants, creating products and welcoming guests to experience Jamaica’s rich healing traditions. Today, the company is bringing these activities together under a single vision: to build the future of Caribbean wellness and establish the region as a global destination for natural healing, wellbeing and connection.

“This evolution brings everything JACANA does together under one platform,” Alexandra Chong, executive chairwoman of JACANA told Observer Online on Thursday.  “For our partners, it represents far more than products on a shelf. It is a fully integrated wellness ecosystem where products become rituals, rituals become treatments, treatments become experiences, and experiences become lasting memories. By connecting every touch point of the wellness journey, we are creating something truly unique to the Caribbean and difficult to replicate anywhere else.”

The platform is built on four interconnected pillars:

— Botanical Personal Care with plant-powered balms, oils, creams and skincare drawing on over 60 Caribbean botanicals, from ginger and turmeric to leaf of life, aloe vera and black castor oil, transforming generations of island wisdom into modern rituals;

— Therapeutic Plant Medicines from evidence-based plant therapies rooted in the Caribbean’s long tradition of healing, spanning medical cannabis, functional mushrooms and emerging therapeutic botanicals;

— Nature-Based Wellness Experiences, which includes farm tours, retreats and hands-on workshops that reconnect guests to nature, culture and themselves; and

— Apothecaries which is experiential wellness retail built for discovery, community and education, not just the transaction.

JACANA operates to internationally recognised standards, combining Caribbean authenticity with operational excellence. It has won TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards for three consecutive years, while its botanical wellness products are trusted by more than 110 leading hospitality and wellness brands, including Sandals, Couples Resorts, Marriott International, Virgin, Rosewood, Auberge, Salamander, Lanserhof and Hard Rock Hotel.

“JACANA began its journey with the cannabis plant, and the rigour it demanded built the foundation for something far bigger. Proudly born in Jamaica, we are building a Caribbean wellness platform rooted in nature, shaped by our healing traditions and designed for the world. Our ambition is simple: to help make the Caribbean a globally recognised destination for wellness and to build one of the defining wellness brands to emerge from the region,” said Alerie Hull-Duhaney, chief executive officer of JACANA.
