Nyle Banks toasts ‘Progress & Greatness’

Recording artiste Nyle Banks is spreading a message of positivity and motivation with his latest track, Progress & Greatness, produced by Guxxie Music and Top Global Production and released earlier this month.

According to the artiste, whose real name is Nicholas Levy, the song was created to inspire young people to focus on growth and purpose rather than negative influences and fleeting trends.

“Most youths are singing about what dem a go do the line and di people dem daughters, so I figured if I structure a song with catchy melody and some wise words to the youth, [it] would make an impact,” he said.

“That’s how Progress & Greatness came about, a song to inspire the youth dem regardless of the hype and what’s trending,” he continued.

Born in Cassia Park’s 13 Lane community in Kingston before later moving to Portmore during his teenage years, Nyle Banks has been professionally involved in music since 2003. He previously performed under the stage name Fyakin and gained recognition with tracks including You Are My Lady, Steamin, Green, She’s Real, and Wanting You.

The entertainer says the response to Progress & Greatness has been overwhelmingly positive, especially internationally.

“The feedback is great so far, especially on the international scene. Having garnered success with collaborations with Queen Omega, Irie Love and Lutan Fyah, has made a big impact on streaming platforms. Having a song of mine featured in the NCIS: Hawaiʻi movie series also introduced me to a wider audience. So far everyone is giving positive feedback on the song. Look out for the official music video on the way,” he continued.

Known for being heavily hands-on with his craft, Nyle Banks prides himself on his versatility in music production.

“My vocals and writing skills and being a man of many gifts in the field of music. I can build the beat, write the song, record it, mix then master it, do the artwork, as well as shoot the music video, then market it. I have produced seven albums of myself so far,” he said.

Among his growing catalogue is the 10-track album Rock & Come In under Nyle BanksMusic Group, along with tracks such as Stay Conscious featuring Queen Omega and Fatbabs, which has amassed over a million streams across Spotify and Apple Music, In Another Life with Hawaiian singer Irie Love, and Same We featuring 1Byng.

Looking ahead, the artiste remains focused on expanding his career while helping to nurture emerging talent within the industry.

“I can’t predict the future, but so far it’s looking like a record label signing and bringing new talent to the forefront. I am passionate about that aspect and teaching the business of music, which is very important,” he continued.

Fans can also look forward to more releases in the near future, including his upcoming Born 4 Greatness EP and a new dancehall project currently in development.
