Mandeville comedy Loaves of Laughter returns July 5
MANDEVILLE, Manchester — Patrons are set to be entertained with the return of Loaves of Laughter at Top Loaf Café here featuring comedians Ryan “Debonair” Dixon and Ludlow “Boasy Boy” Floyd on July 5.
Following the fifth staging of the event on June 7, headlined by Owen “Blakka” Ellis and Curley Roberts, event promoter Christopher “The Entertainer” Larmond said the show has a rapidly growing audience.
“It shows the value of the product and that people in Manchester do have an option of a different type of entertainment that they can just sit down and laugh. The part I love the most is when the show is finished and people say they enjoy themselves and they say which act they like the most and who I said invite again,” he said recently.
Director at Top Loaf Café Ryan Chen shared similar sentiments.
“The momentum has been growing month to month, and [promoter] Chris has been doing a fantastic job bringing new entertainers into Manchester for the people of Mandeville to come and enjoy themselves. It is always a fresh entertainment for every show — something new, something dynamic, sold out and with every show the crowd just keeps coming,” said Chen.
Larmond said the upcoming event on July 5 will have new comedians in addition to Dixon and Floyd.
The event’s sponsors include Top Loaf Café, VPROMS, Glenrock Hotel, and the New Best Decorators Limited.
Ellis and Roberts said Loaves of Laugher has created a new type of family entertainment for central Jamaica.
“I like the idea that it is comedy and it is family oriented… For us to laugh together without being vulgar, it is a good idea for family friendly fun,” said Ellis.
“People in Mandeville really want someone to go for an alternative kind of entertainment. I know people who travel from St Elizabeth to Montego Bay for shows, but it will be easier for them to come to Mandeville,” shared Roberts.
