Trevdon ready to make his mark in dancehall
At just 16 years old, emerging dancehall artiste Trevdon is determined to turn his dreams into reality while representing the experiences of Jamaica’s youth through authentic and meaningful music.
Hailing from Falmouth, Trelawny, the young entertainer is beginning to attract attention with his latest single, Chosen, a powerful track produced by Dinesty King.
The song is inspired by personal loss, struggle, and perseverance, themes that resonate deeply with the artiste’s own life experiences.
According to Trevdon, the inspiration for Chosen came from the passing of a close friend and the challenges he continues to witness within his community.
“
Chosen reflects a lot of my life experiences and the reality I see around me every day,” he shared.
The collaboration with producer Dinesty King allowed Trevdon to bring his vision to life, creating a song that blends emotional storytelling with a contemporary dancehall sound.
Musically, Trevdon credits dancehall star Chronic Law as his biggest influence. He admires the entertainer’s ability to transform real-life experiences into powerful songs that connect with listeners on a personal level.
“My style is authentic and relatable. I focus mainly on real-life experiences and meaningful messages,” he explained.
Despite his young age, Trevdon says his journey has not been without challenges. One of the biggest lessons he has learnt is how to navigate relationships with people who were not genuinely supportive of his ambitions. Those experiences, he saids, have strengthened his determination to remain focused on his goals.
The artiste believes consistency, hard work, and staying true to himself will help him stand out in the highly competitive dancehall industry.
Since the release of Chosen, the response has been encouraging, said the artiste, with listeners embracing both the song’s message and its honesty.
The positive feedback has further motivated Trevdon to continue developing his craft and expanding his reach.
Looking ahead, the young artiste plans to release more music and visuals throughout 2026 as he continues building his brand. His long-term ambition is to perform on international stages and establish himself as one of dancehall’s respected new voices.
“This is just the start,” he said confidently.
