KFC set to open restaurant near Mary Brown’s Corner in 2027
KFC is set to open a new restaurant in the vicinity of Mary Brown’s Corner on Constant Spring Road in St Andrew, local operator Restaurants of Jamaica (ROJ) has confirmed.
ROJ plans to open the new KFC outlet in the first half of 2027 as part of its ongoing expansion strategy.
Responding to queries from Observer Online, KFC Jamaica Brand Manager Andrei Roper confirmed that the area is among the company’s planned expansion locations within the Kingston Metropolitan Area.
“We are continually seeking opportunities to expand our footprint within the Corporate Area and we can confirm that this area of Constant Spring Road is among those locations within the KMA region currently in our plans for expansion,” Roper said.
According to Roper, the location was selected to improve access to the brand in an area experiencing sustained population growth.
“We saw an opportunity to improve access to our brand within a very well populated region of the Corporate Area, one which continues to see ongoing residential expansion and with it, increased customer demand. Our aim is to deliver more convenience and a better customer experience for our customers not just in this area but across the country,” he said.
State Minister for Commerce and Member of Parliament for St Andrew North Central, Delano Seiveright, had disclosed plans for the new KFC outlet at the official launch of Jetour Jamaica’s showroom at Mary Brown’s Corner last month, describing it as a major development for the area.
Roper said the project is a significant investment for the company, although he did not disclose its monetary value.
“This site represents a major investment in infrastructure, equipment, technology, and people – and is another testament to our long-term commitment to employment creation and serving the community,” he said.
The new restaurant is expected to create approximately 50 jobs when it opens.
Customers can also expect a modern, full-service outlet featuring multiple ordering options, including drive-thru, delivery and self-service kiosks.
Roper said the new location forms part of ROJ’s long-term growth strategy, which includes expanding its restaurant network, upgrading existing locations, investing in technology to improve operational efficiency and customer experience, creating employment opportunities, and supporting communities across the island.
KFC has 45 outlets across the island, the latest being its very first restaurant in the eastern parish of St Thomas.
