I Dream Again expected to lead home rivals in Don Wehby Sr Memorial Trophy

The $1.25-million Donald Wehby Sr Memorial Trophy takes centre stage on tomorrow’s 10-race card at Caymanas Park.

The Overnight Allowance contest for three-year-olds and upward has drawn 13 runners going 5 furlongs (1,000m) straight.

Below, the Jamaica Observer’s Supreme Racing Guide analyses each runner and their winning chances:

1. TAPIT GOOD: (7 ch h by Tapiture – Fortyfifteen) – Has no business in this level of competition. Hard to see him featuring.

2. MISS MONEYPENNY: (4 ch f by Bern Identity – Pomeroy’s Secret) – Speedy filly with early zip. Expected to make her presence felt and could set the pace.

3. ALLEGIANCE: (5 ch h by Midnight Hawk – Princess Geeta) – Ran a good second behind Boss Man over 7 furlongs on June 28. This is sharper than he wants, but Allegiance should be on the premises when it matters.

4. BROMPTON BOY: (4 b c by Casual Trick – Eye Candy) – Outclassed here. Brompton Boy is likely to be left behind.

5. MY SUNSHINE: (5 b m by Sunshine N Shadow – Noon It Is) – Can safely be bypassed on current form.

6. BOB THE BUILDER: (4 b c by Hedge Fund – Sound of Miracle) – Needs everything to go right to hit the frame. Minor placing at best.

7. COOKIE DAY NIGHT: (6 ch h by Resurgence – Eloping Emma) – Erratic but dangerous. Shows up every now and then with surprising efforts and could get into the mix at odds.

8. JOHNCROWJEFF (8 b g by Natural Selection – Sweetyourock) – No winning chance on form, but veteran enough to pick up a piece of the purse if others falter.

9. I DREAM AGAIN: (4 b c by Soul Warrior – Lady Najariya) – On paper and current form he is the one to beat. I Dream Again finished a 6¾-length second to Linguist over this trip on May 16 and drops into a winnable spot. I Dream Again should be too good for the competition.

10. GALLOP DE VELOZ: (5 ch h by Sensational Slam – Women Is Boss) – Honest type who can run well without actually winning. Place chance.

11. HUNTSMAN: (6 ch h by Key To Power – Dream Point) – Another who should run respectably and could fill a trifecta slot.

12. DREAM TO REALITY: (5 b h by Sensational Slam – Dreamcometrue) – Dreams likely to fade in this company.

13. AWESOME ANTHONY: (6 ch h by Soul Warrior – Antoinette) – No realistic winning chance.
