Man fined $14,000 over airport parking and disorderly conduct
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A man was fined a total of $14,000 after pleading guilty to unlawful parking, using indecent language and behaving in a disorderly manner at the Norman Manley International Airport.
Rohan Maxwell admitted to the offences, which stemmed from an incident at the airport on March 22, 2026. He appeared before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Tuesday.
During the proceedings, presiding Judge Peter Wilson told Maxwell that his conduct at the airport was unacceptable. Maxwell interrupted to indicate that he wished to plead guilty.
Warning Maxwell to avoid repeating his actions, the judge advised that, in future, he should park farther away and wait until the person he was collecting had arrived before driving over to pick them up.
Maxwell was fined $10,000 or three days’ imprisonment for unlawful parking, $2,000 or three days’ imprisonment for using indecent language, and $2,000 or three days’ imprisonment for disorderly conduct.
