Employee injured in Guardsman fire succumbs to injuries
KINGSTON, Jamaica—Damion Walters, a 43-year-old employee of Guardsman Group of Companies, who sustained third-degree burns in a fire at the company on South Camp Road in May, succumbed to his injuries on Monday while undergoing treatment at the Burn Centre in Georgia, United States.
Walters was among three men who sustained third-degree burns in a blast at a garage adjacent to Guardsman Group-Beryllium Limited headquarters, on South Camp Road and were airlifted to hospitals overseas for additional treatment.
An additional man who suffered injuries in the blast died shortly after the incident.
