American reggae singer Lady Songbird is enjoying an encouraging start to her recording career as her debut single, Talkin’ Bout Love, continues to gain momentum through radio airplay and positive feedback from reggae fans.

“The DJs love this song,” Lady Songbird said. “The outpouring of love, messages and fire emojis has been incredible. It’s inspiring me as I continue working on my EP.”

For the Boston-born entertainer, releasing her first official single marks the fulfillment of a lifelong dream.

“It feels amazing,” she said. “I’ve been a reggae music enthusiast for years, traveling to festivals and carnivals around the world. Releasing this song has brought my love for reggae full circle.”

Inspired by real-life experiences, Talkin’ Bout Love celebrates the beauty and complexity of relationships.

“I wanted to capture the beautiful parts of loving someone,” she explained. “The song isn’t based on just one relationship. I want listeners to understand that love, in its purest form, is something to be cherished.”

A major highlight of the project was collaborating with acclaimed musician and producer Aston Barrett Jr, who played nearly every instrument on the recording.

“He taught me the importance of maintaining the integrity of the reggae sound,” Lady Songbird said, praising his musical vision and attention to detail throughout the production.

Although she grew up in Boston, Lady Songbird says reggae has always been central to her life. She credits respected selector Junior Rodigan and Volcano Sound for helping shape her appreciation of Jamaican music from an early age.

The singer is now looking forward to visiting Jamaica, where she plans to reconnect with members of the local music fraternity before recording the second single from her forthcoming EP, Empress Lady, at the legendary Tuff Gong Studios later this summer.

Over the next year, Lady Songbird hopes to complete her six-track Empress Lady EP, record a full-length album, and perform at reggae festivals across Europe.

With Talkin’ Bout Love making a solid first impression and more music already in the pipeline, Lady Songbird is steadily establishing herself as a new voice committed to preserving the authentic sound of reggae.
