Taxi operator dies following motor vehicle collision in St Mary
ST MARY, Jamaica — The St Mary police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision that claimed the life of a 32 year-old taxi operator Wednesday on the Highgate bypass in the vicinity of St Mary’s High School.
The deceased has been identified as Akeem Marshall of Cromwell Land, Highgate.
Police reports are that around 10:00pm, Marshall was driving his Toyota Wish motor car in an easterly direction on the Highgate Bypass towards St Mary’s High School when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle. The car overturned several times, ejecting the driver, before coming to a stop in the centre of the roadway.
Marshall sustained severe injuries and was transported to the Annotto Bay Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
