TransJamaican Highway toll rates to increase from August 1
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Motorists using the TransJamaican Highway will pay higher toll rates from August 1, while T-Tag users will continue paying the current rates until October 31.
According to a notice issued by TransJam Highways, the toll adjustments are being made “to ensure that we can continue delivering the high standard of service our customers expect and deserve”. The company said there will be no change to T-Tag rates on August 1, with those rates remaining in effect for another 90 days.

From August 1, motorists paying without a T-Tag will see increases across all toll plazas and vehicle classes.
At the Portmore toll plaza, Class 1 vehicles will pay $400, up from the current T-Tag rate of $370, while Class 2 vehicles will pay $790 and Class 3 vehicles $1,195.
At the Spanish Town toll plaza, the new non-T-Tag rates will be $290 for Class 1 vehicles, $590 for Class 2 and $880 for Class 3.
Motorists using the Vineyards toll plaza without a T-Tag will pay $850 for Class 1 vehicles, $1,350 for Class 2 and $2,700 for Class 3, while the new rates at the May Pen toll plaza will be $295, $480 and $850, respectively.
At the Toll Gate Mainline, non-T-Tag users will pay $530 for Class 1 vehicles, $800 for Class 2 and $1,550 for Class 3. At the Toll Gate Ramp, the new rates will be $270 for Class 1, $400 for Class 2 and $770 for Class 3.
TransJam Highways is encouraging motorists to obtain a T-Tag, noting that customers who sign up before August 1 can lock in the current T-Tag rates until October 31. The company said T-Tag packages, which include a T-Tag sticker, swipe card and a $500 opening credit, are available at any manually operated toll booth on the highway.
Beginning October 31, T-Tag rates will also increase. From that date, Class 1 motorists will pay $390 at Portmore, $280 at Spanish Town, $840 at Vineyards, $285 at May Pen, $520 at the Toll Gate Mainline and $260 at the Toll Gate Ramp. Class 2 and Class 3 T-Tag rates will also be adjusted across the toll plazas.
