Taxi operator facing firearm related offences

KINGSTON, Jamaica—A 25-year-old taxi operator has been charged with robbery with aggravation, possession of a prohibited weapon, and assault at common law following an incident at a bar in the parish on Sunday, July 19.

He has been identified as Odean Kinglock, of Lacy district, Stony Hill, St Andrew.

Reports are that at about 11:30 pm, Kinglock and his accomplices, all wearing masks, confronted patrons at the bar, pointed a firearm at them, robbed them of their belongings, and then fled the scene on foot.

The matter was reported to the police and an investigation was launched. During the course of the investigation, Kinglock was implicated and subsequently arrested on July 22.

He was later charged with the aforementioned offences following a question-and-answer session conducted in the presence of his attorney on July 24.

His court date is being finalised.
